摘要：A request from a first network device, e.g. a WAN, that is destined to a secondnetwork device, e.g. a LAN, for rendering of a service to the first network device isintercepted by an intermediate device interconnecting both networks. If the secondnetwork device is in a standby state, a wake up message is transmitted to it. The requestis forwarded to the second network device. The method and device allow the possibilityfor a first network device to use second network devices even when they are in a standbystate, and removes a hindrance for these second network devices to enter into a standbystate, thereby contributing to power saving.
